Heart failure patients management has a huge impact on health systems due to the required multiple and prolonged hospitalisations of patients and the related patient management costs. Focusing on routine patient-physician or patient-nurse communication following discharge can result in a significant reduction of hospitalizations.
RETENTION project is exploiting the technological convergence of state-of-the-art technologies, to develop innovative, transparent, and sophisticated decision-making capabilities and deliver personalized effective interventions for advance heart failure diseases.
To identify the types and develop mechanisms for the collection, measurement, sharing, and management of the medical, clinical, physiological, behavioural, psychosocial, and real-world data that should be monitored and analysed to enable the personalised clinical management of HF patients, and the assessment of its effectiveness.
To develop data analytic models, and explainable and verifiable decision-making models to enable personalised clinical management and interventions for HF patients, aimed at improving the clinical management of such patients, reducing their mortality and hospitalisation rates, and improving their quality of life, safety and well-being.
To develop capabilities to ensure the security, privacy, accountability, and trustworthiness of the RETENTION platform.
To design, implement and integrate the RETENTION platform.
To demonstrate and validate the use of the RETENTION platform and the clinical decision making and interventions for HF management in a clinical study, involving a total of 450 participants recruited by 6 different hospitals across 5 different EU countries, while considering the relevant regulatory, legal and ethical issues arising in each of these countries as well as diversities in the HF clinical management protocols used in them.
To maximise the project’s impact and create an open and sustainable solution.
Eunomia Ltd contributes mainly to the analysis of regulatory legislation issues related to ethics and the privacy of data that will be collected in the RETENTION platform. Specifically the clinical trial application, protocol, and evaluation methodology definitions, the overall requirements in terms of ethics and privacy, and the continuous ethics monitoring.
